After setting up an assessment, you will need to add quiz questions. To accomplish this, open the assessment that you just created from the maintained learning resources screen. Click the manage content button at the top of the screen. A new window for the quiz content will open. Click the quiz properties button at the top of the window. The quiz properties window will appear with the quiz details tab selected by default. Enter the percentage score needed to pass the quiz and the passing score field. Enter a phrase such as next or submit in the next button text field. This will populate the button that users will click in order to proceed through the assessment. If you would like to give users the option to return to previous quiz questions, check the enable navigation to prior panels box. If this option is enabled, a phrase such as previous or back must be entered in the previous button label field. If you would like to apply a specific template to the quiz, select the template from the template fields drop-down menu. If you would like to give users the option to close the quiz and resume it from where they left off, click the bookmark tab, check the automatically bookmark this quiz box, then enter the text that users will see upon resuming the quiz in the text field. Click the question defaults tab. Enter the number of points awarded per correct answer in the points awarded field. Check the do not show correct answers on questions box. If you would not like users to be given the correct answer to a question. If they answer incorrectly, check the show feedback on questions box to allow users to receive feedback on their answers. If you would like to provide users with the same feedback for each question, check the provide feedback by default box, then enter the message users will see when they answer a question in the two text fields. Click the results tab. Best practice is to check the display user score and display pass fail messages boxes. You may also check the display passing Mastery score box to show users the score required to pass the assessment when the display pass fail messages box is checked, enter the message that users will see if they pass or fail the quiz in the text fields. When you are finished setting the quiz properties, click OK.
Select new Question Group One. You must always select the question group you want to add a question to before you can add a question to the quiz. As part of our best practices, a quiz may begin with a content only question that provides users with information on how many questions they must answer, expectations for a passing score, and any additional information they may need. To proceed with this suggestion, click content only. If you'd prefer that users immediately begin the quiz upon launch, skip this step. Enter your quiz's instructions in the field provided. When you have finished, click save and close. A preview of a completed content only question with quiz instructions is shown below. To keep your instructions separate from your quiz, create a new question group by clicking the question group button. Select the new question group two that appears. Click the add question button. The new question window will appear. The panel types field will display a list of the types of questions available. Select the type of question you'd like to create, then click add panel. A window will appear with fields to populate for the information about the question. In this example, we're creating a true false question. Other types of questions may have more than two possible answers and more than one correct answer. Enter the question in the question field. Click the radio button beside the correct answer under the correct column for possible answers. Optionally you can provide users with customized feedback for each question under the questions set feedback section. Double click the fields under the feedback column beside each answer. Enter feedback for the answer in the window that appears and click update. It's important to note that customized feedback will only display if the show feedback on questions box is checked under quiz properties. When the question is complete, click the save and close button to add it to the quiz. Continue this process until all questions have been added to the quiz. To randomize the order in which a user will see the quiz questions, click the randomize group button at the top of the window. Please be sure to have the question group selected that you want to randomize. To preview your assessment, click the preview button at the top of the window. Be sure to click the save button at the top of the window before you click the close button. Return to the Overview tab of the assessment and confirm that the resource is set to active. Click save and close.
